Since 2001, I have served a variety of creative and supervisory roles for the famed BLUE MAN GROUP – a globally recognized entertainment industry phenomenon which presents a dynamic combination of art, music, comedy and technology.

Highlights include: Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival; two sold out nights at the Hollywood Bowl with the L.A. He also appeared in various national, regional and international television appearances, including The Tonight Show, The Today Show, and NPR Tiny Desk.

Additionally I have composed music for award winning music house, Gratitude Sound.

I perform on guitar and bass guitar in many different styles.

As a High School music teacher I have taught band, choir, jazz band, jazz choir, music theory. I have also taught private lessons for guitar, bass, drums / percussion, woodwinds, vioin, piano and voice.

Teaching Style

My teaching style is supportive and adaptive. Lessons are highly interactive and tailored to each student's goals and learning pace. I aim to create a positive and motivating environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. My ultimate goal is to inspire a lifelong love of music, while equipping students with the tools they need to grow as musicians.

I believe in providing a strong foundation in music theory as well as technical proficiency, while also encouraging students to explore their individual musical voice. I emphasize active learning through ear training, improvisation, and hands-on experience with compositions. I use a wide range of materials, from classical repertoire to contemporary genres, ensuring students can relate their learning to real-world music they enjoy.

Curriculum

Depending on the student's goals, my teaching method is adaptive for different learning styles and developmental stages.  I combine elements from multiple methods to suit the needs of the particular student. These include: Orff and Dalcroze (incorporating improvisation and rhythmic exploration), Suzuki (learning by ear before learning to read music), Kodály (with a focus on ear training and solfege singing). For experienced learners I focus on performance, technical proficiency, music theory and composition if desired.

As far as texts & method books, I am flexible and prefer to explore the best options depending on the student and their goals.

I have also designed my own curriculum for Digital Music Production.
