I've had a long career as a touring and recording bassist performing a variety of styles such as rock, blues, jazz, pop, country, soul, r&b. I've been fortunate enough to make a living covering it all. Hundreds of radio and television jingles as well as cd and vinyl recordings including the last release by the band "Healing Sixes" featuring blues guitar great Joe Bonamassa. I provided the bass tracks for the documentay film "Come Together" a Beatles Tribute. I've had the pleasue of recording with many notable producers and engineers including John Parish (Tracy Chapman, PJ Harvey) and Paul Corkett (Radiohead, the Cure) at Moles Studio in Bath, U.K. and the Toybox in Bristol, U.K. Throughout my career I've been lucky enough to perform or record with members of the Pretenders, the Beach Boys, Billy Joel, John Mellencamp, the Spinners, Marvin Gaye and I've been able to appear at some of the top venues across the U.S. including House of Blues (Chicago), the Tampa Bay Blues Fest, Arlene's Grocery (NYC), Eddies Attic (Atlanta) and others. www.jeffstonebass.com

While making my living as a professional bassist I've remained focused on eduacation and I've been a bass instructor for 30 years. I've had the opportunity to study with some of the finest musicians and educators in the country. As a teacher my focus has been on understanding the language of music and teaching my students how to function in a real world band situation. Most of the students I have worked with are more interested in being able to join a band or sit in at the local blues jam more than how to learn advanced techniques so I develope personalized teaching methods designed for each students needs.Some current and former students have gone on to attend Indiana University, Ball State University, Purdue University, Berklee School of Music and have become professional musicians.
