About

Hi there! I'm Jennifer and I have lived and breathed music all my life. I started taking piano lessons at the age of 6 and enrolled in the Royal Conservatory of Music where I eventually graduated and obtained my ARCT (Associate of the Royal Conservatory) diploma in Piano Performance with Honors and Advanced Theory Certificate. I was a participant in the South Fraser Music Festival for many years and was awarded a Silver for my performance in Level 10 Classical and 21st Century Repertoire. Along with piano, I found my love of singing at a young age and studied Voice for eight years with Carolyn Orazietti and Angelina Van Dyke, later participating in the Kiwanis Music Festival and being awarded a Gold for my performance in the Broadway category.  I also picked up guitar and ukulele along the way and studied styles such as fingerstyle, pop and classical.

I have hosted many recitals for students in my home city and also encourage students to get excited about performing live and or online!

Teaching is my joy in life and I have been teaching for 15+ years. I have experience teaching students of all ages and in many different countries such as the US, different provinces in Canada and Asia where I have obtained my TESOL certificate and taught English to young children online.

Outside of the music studio, I am a Mommy to my daughter Violet and son Klaus, book worm and wife to my amazing husband who has supported me from the very start of my journey. I look forward to meeting you and guiding you on your musical journey!

Teaching Style

Throughout my years as a teacher, I learned many different styles of music and have instilled my love for it in my students of all ages for over ten years. My teaching philosophy is to encourage students to push past their limitations, improve instrument performance and to be motivated to have a deeper understanding and appreciation of this amazing art form. Whatever your goal may be, I'm sure I can help you meet it while having fun at the same time!

Students have many musical styles that they connect with and I love facilitating that connection to happen so I am very open to teaching all musical styles with a great musical foundation in note reading, rhythm, and technique.
