About

** IF YOU CAN'T FIND A MATCHING TIME IN MY SCHEDULE, SEND ME A MESSAGE AND WE'LL WORK IT OUT**

Hello everyone! My name is João and I teach Brazilian guitar.

I started playing when I was 8 years old, through my father, who is a Samba and Bossa Nova musician in the nights of São Paulo, the city where I was born and have always lived. I studied, became a professional and specialized in Brazilian guitar. Today, I perform solo or with a band all over Brazil, playing Brazilian music hits, Samba, Bossa Nova, Choro, and also my own songs.

In the last few years, I have had many online students from all over the world interested in learning Brazilian music on the guitar. For me, it is a great pleasure to be able to teach people from other cultures to play the music of my country. Teaching guitar is my passion, and I am very proud of Brazilian music!

PS: Here at LessonFace, I have taught guitar in general, not necessarily Brazilian guitar, as well as ukulele, composition, among others, so some of my reviews are about these other areas. Currently, however, I have focused this profile on teaching Brazilian music.

Teaching Style

The class method is customizable according to the student's goals and abilities.

1- If you want to play as an accompaniment to singing in Brazilian music, we will focus on rhythm, harmony and synchronization of the guitar with the voice.

2- If you want to play arrangements of Brazilian music for solo guitar, the classes will be more focused on techniques related to fingerstyle.

Of course, if you want to work on these two aspects together, it is also possible, with the proper didactic planning.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that, in both types of classes, we will be working the entire time on technical aspects of the guitar to help you have a clearer, cleaner and more fluid sound.
