John Matthew
About
Hello! My name is John Matthew, and I am a dedicated piano and keyboard teacher with over 5 years of online teaching experience. I have trained students of all age groups, from young beginners to adults, guiding them through structured lessons that build both skill and confidence.
I have completed Grade 7 in Keyboard Performance and specialize in preparing students for Trinity College London and London College of Music (LCM) certification exams. Along with classical and contemporary approaches, I also design tailored lesson plans to meet each student’s learning style and goals.
In addition to teaching, I serve as a live musician and production team member at Harvest Vision (Christian Organization), where I perform and contribute to music production.
My teaching philosophy is to make music learning a balanced journey of theory, practice, and Soul & what spirit or music is, ensuring students not only play the instrument but also develop a true spirit for music.
Teaching Style
Teaching Style
I focus on creating a friendly and engaging learning environment for students of all ages.
My approach combines practical playing with theory and ear training, helping students understand music deeply, not just play notes.
I use a step-by-step curriculum that I have developed, tailored to each student’s pace and goals.
For beginners, I emphasize building strong fundamentals with simple exercises and fun songs.
For advanced students, I guide them through performance techniques, improvisation, and certification exam preparation (Trinity/LCM).
I encourage creativity by including original exercises and worship/church-style playing for interested students.
