John Meyer
About
Hello! My name is John. I'm 33 and I've been doing music for over 20 years now. I got my start on drums and played for about 8 years before learning guitar and how to sing. I then took to playing live shows in my hometown area of Perryville, MO and eventually made the move to Nashville, TN.
I then started playing Broadway in downtown Nashville and then got hooked up with some different acts and touring with them such as, Justin Moore, Chris Janson, Chris Lane, Chris Young, Billy Currington, James Otto, Kid Rock, & more!
I also used to be an entertainer for Carnival Cruise Line as well.
I have a strong passion for music and enjoy teaching it.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is definitely visual, as I am a visual learner myself. So instead of just talking about chords, I will show the proper finger placement on the guitar supplemented with a chord chart.
My teaching style would also depend on what stage the student is in, whether a beginner or more advanced.
Beginners would start out with 1-2 basic chords per session and we would work on that until they got it down and gradually progress from there.
More advanced guitar players, I would teach specific strumming patterns, hammer-on/off's, how to read chord progressions, how to change guitar strings, etc.
