About

Hello! My name is Johnny and I've been playing the guitar for almost 20 years! In 2017 I graduated from the Berklee College of Music which provided an enriching and holistic music education.  I've been teaching music for over ten years through different mediums which include summer camps, private lessons, and a college masterclass.  In my professional life I've been playing the guitar in stadiums and arenas the past few years as well as award shows and late night television.  Part of what I offer includes professional development and career/networking consultation if music is your chosen path! Happily teaching beginners or hobbyists as well.  Shoot me a message for yourself or your child and lets chat!

Teaching Style

My teaching approach is tailored to each individual's ambition and self-defined musical path.  A basis of music theory and fretboard fluency is always part of my foundational curriculum, however balancing this out with learning songs that the student enjoys playing is of utmost importance.  Ear-training exercises are incorporated as well in order to enrich a students ability to aurally comprehend musical situations and be able to play freely with other musicians! Additionally, I offer career and networking consultation for students interested in pursuing a career in music.

Curriculum

Hal Leonard Books always come highly recommended by me.

Also bring in your favorite songs to the lesson for us to listen to and work through!
