About

I started studying the guitar with local teachers at the age of 8.  Upon graduation from high school I enrolled in The College of Mount Saint Josephs music program as a Classical Guitar Performance Major, also a Music Education Major. It was at this time that I first started teaching private lessons at a local music store.  By the time I graduated with a BA in Classical Guitar Performance and Music Ed. I had built up a 6 day a week schedule and was performing 2-5 nights a week. I have continued to do so having had the opportunity to work with many talented, enjoyable students and perform with some outstanding players.

Teaching Style

I cater the lesson to the individuals musical taste, rock, classical, country etc, as well as their goals and practice schedule.  The student preparing for an audition at a conservatory vs the student wanting to play in a metal or country band is going to be different from the person simply wanting to strum Brown Eyed Girl around the campfire.

Curriculum

Each students needs, wants and abilities are different therefore I really don't have a set curriculum I use.  I encourage the reading of notation in addition to tablature and chord diagrams but do not insist upon it.
