Juan Carlos Meier

I am a Venezuelan pianist with over 25 years of experience as a performer, collaborative pianist, and piano teacher. Currently based in Chile, I hold undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Piano Performance and Music Education, including a Master’s in Musical Performance from the University of Chile.

I offer lessons only in Spanish.

My teaching experience spans conservatories, music schools, private academies, and colleges in both Venezuela and Chile. I have worked with children, teenagers, and adults of all musical backgrounds and levels. As a piano professor and accompanist, I have had the opportunity to participate in master classes with international artists from renowned institutions such as the Berlin Philharmonic, including Jannet Saksala and Olaf Ott, as well as working alongside maestros like Alexander Gheorghiu, Frank Di Polo, and Ben Van Dijk.

I am also the founder of "Piano a Tope" Academy, where I offer personalized online piano lessons for students around the world. My approach blends clarity, simplicity, and a welcoming, supportive environment to nurture both technical proficiency and musical expression.

In my teaching, I strive to create an environment that is clear, supportive, and adaptable to each student’s needs. My specialty and professional training are rooted in classical music, which provides the foundation for my approach. I tailor lessons to foster technical growth, musicality, and confidence, whether working with young beginners or advanced adult students. While our main focus is on building a solid classical repertoire, I am also happy to help students learn a specific piece—such as a theme from an anime—or guide them through the chords of their favorite church song alongside the assigned material. I believe in making music accessible, enjoyable, and deeply rewarding for every learner.
