Kaitlyn Ritter

I have been playing the flute for about 11 years and am currently a Junior studying Flute Performance at BYU. I have competed in multiple competitions most recently, I was awarded Co-Principal chair in the Philharmonic Orchestra at BYU. I also recently won first place at the Dixie State Woodwind Competition, collegiate level earlier this year. In High School awarded 1st chair in the Wind Symphony and 2nd chair in the Chamber Orchestra at BYU. In High School, I won 1st chair in the All State Band, 1st chair in my High School band and was awarded first prize in the UMTA High School Scholarship competition at U of U and I won the Concerto competition and soloed with the Lyceum Philharmonic Symphony and awarded 2nd place in the MTNA Flute Young Artist Performance Competition and won first prize at the Utah Valley University Susan Goodfellow Sonata Competition, High School Division. I love teaching and hope to grow my flute studio!

I believe that practice makes progress! I have competed in many flute competitions and know what it takes to nail an audition.  I love kids and helping people find the joy in practicing and learning music! I'm also a Christian and believe in loving and serving each other. I like to use the Flute 101,102,103 books by Louke and George for learning technique. But I'm flexible in helping students learn from other books that they have as well.
