KATHY GRACE TREVINO
About
Kathy Grace is a captivating watercolor, oil, and acrylic painter, teacher, and gallery curator who ignites the creative spark in hundreds of students. Many of her students have achieved the remarkable milestone of selling their original paintings in galleries. Her teaching is deeply rooted in the techniques and fundamentals of painting, inspiring others to explore their artistic voice.
Teaching Style
My art teaching style is rooted in building strong techniques and art foundations—such as gesture, value, form, color, and anatomy—but I introduce them in a way that feels intuitive rather than rigid. Technique is presented as a tool, not a rule. By layering concepts gradually and encouraging curiosity, I allow students to build confidence without becoming overwhelmed. This balance of structure and freedom supports both beginners and more experienced artists, inviting each student to develop their own voice.
My feedback is warm, specific, and encouraging. I meet students where they are, offering encouragement that feels honest and constructive rather than performative. Many students feel seen and supported in your classes, especially those returning to art after time away or those who have never considered themselves “artists.” I encourage my students to develop their personal style.
