About

I love to teach others the joy of working with their hands.  I specialize in Macrame and Macra-weaving.  I make learning the basics fun and as simple as possible.  If you can tie your shoes, then you can macrame.  Then I encourage each student to explore as he/she creates finished projects suitable for showing off to friends and family.

Teaching Style

I have been artfully tying knots since it was popular in the 70's.  Bring knotting into the 2020's using five basic knots: Larks head, Square Knot, Half Knot, double Half Hitch and the Wrap Knot. You can create endlessly unique pieces.  Add texture, color and vibrancy to your work with the addition of a variety of fibers and basic weaving techniques.  The outcomes are stunning.

Curriculum

My teaching style is fully interactive.  First we will learn the basic knots and create a small "sampler" piece to practice.  This piece will be about 10"x16"  and beautiful enough to hang on your wall!  Then we'll engage in the design of a larger piece (approximately 14" x 40") that will incorporate both knotting and weaving techniques. We'll finish the class with finishing & hanging techniques so that your masterpiece  is ready for display.  We'll fully discuss where to source materials and where to continue your in your learning. Between class support will be available
