Kellin Watson

Kellin Watson is an internationally touring singer-songwriter whose award-winning sound blends blues, pop, folk, and soul with a voice that’s both powerful and intimate. Hailing from the mountain town of Black Mountain, NC, Kellin draws on her Appalachian roots to bring raw authenticity and emotional depth to her music. Kellin studied 2 years of music production and electronic publishing at Lees-McRae College, and two years of music business at UNC-Asheville. 

With four full-length albums to her name, Kellin has evolved alongside the changing music industry—shifting from CDs to the digital era—and now continues to release EPs and singles that showcase her growth, versatility, and enduring songwriting voice.

She has shared the stage with a wide range of celebrated artists including Amos Lee, Susan Tedeschi, Little Feat, The Wood Brothers, The Duhks, Crash Test Dummies, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Seth Walker, and Tyler Ramsey, among others. Throughout her career, Kellin has toured nationally and internationally playing such respected venues, festivals, and College’s in the US and Canada as, Music City Roots @ The Loveless Cafe in Nashville TN, Stan Rogers Folk Festival in Canso Nova Scotia, Bristol Rhythm and Roots Festival in Bristol Tn, Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles CA, the Alltel Pavilion in Raleigh NC, Bele Chere Music Festival in Asheville NC, 30A Songwriters Festival in Santa Rosa Beach FL, the Fletcher Opera Theatre in Raleigh NC and many more.

Her music has been featured in film, television, and commercial projects, with placements on CBS’s The Good Wife, Degrassi: The Next Generation, Trinity Goodheart, and various indie films and global campaigns.

Kellin has been teaching voice, & songwriting lessons for the past 15 years independently and through The Actors Center of Asheville. 

Kellin Watson uses a holistic approach, focusing on both technique and artistry while adapting to the individual student's needs and learning style. We will work on things like proper posture, breath control, and vocal exercises to develop a healthy and strong voice while developing each students musicality, including pitch accuracy, phrasing, and emotional expression.
