Kim McKenna
About
Driven by curiosity and colour, Kim is a dedicated fibre artist and educator who brings a rich blend of science, skill, and creativity to her teaching. Her approach is to first help students examine and understand their unique “signature” spinning style. From that baseline she helps them explore various fibre prep and draft methods and how to employ those methods to create loft, elasticity, drape, strength, or lustre in their handspun.
Kim is a regular contributor to Spin Off magazine. She teaches workshops through SweetGeorgia Yarns, both in-person as well as through the online School of SweetGeorgia. She also teaches silk-spinning at workshops and retreats through Sanjo Silk and The Silk Weaving Studio in Vancouver, B.C.
