About

I’m a classical soprano, writer, and educator based in New York City, with a Master of Music in Vocal Arts from Bard College Conservatory and a Bachelor’s in Voice Performance from Furman University. I specialize in teaching voice, musicianship, music theory, and academic writing to students of all ages and experience levels, with a particular passion for supporting neurodivergent and arts-focused learners.

Teaching Style

I aim to create the structure to guide students and encourage them to bring their whole selves to the table. Growth happens when we feel safe enough to take risks—exploring new sounds, building technique, and learning how to be expressive without losing authenticity. My teaching style is grounded in respect for the whole person—not just the voice, but the heart and mind behind it. I believe in rigor without rigidity; in excellence without erasure. I hold high expectations for my students, but I also listen closely, respond honestly, and meet each person where they are. Voice lessons can be deeply personal work, and I aim to create a space where students feel supported, empowered, and challenged as they grow technically and artistically.

Curriculum

My teaching draws on classical technique as a foundation for vocal freedom in any style—whether classical, musical theatre, or contemporary. I focus on breath, resonance, diction, and healthy vocal alignment, as well as artistry, text interpretation, and performance practice. For musicianship and theory, I integrate ear training, solfege, rhythm work, and score reading into lessons as needed.

I do have a few preferred texts and method books for vocal technique and theory but I don’t use a one-size-fits-all approach. Once we’ve met and I’ve assessed your goals and skill level, I’ll let you know whether or not we’ll work with specific texts.
