I've been playing guitar for over two decades, and I've been offering in-person guitar and bass lessons for several years. I have taught across all ages and skill levels. I have also taught undergraduate-level philosophy for over ten years. I'm a natural educator, and I have an abiding passion for all types of guitar-based music, but especially for rock and metal.
Teaching Style
I consider myself to be a straightforward but friendly instructor. I'll be up front with you about what it takes to progress on the guitar, but I won't force you to get there. I will always encourage you to go deeper, and I will hopefully inspire you to do so.
Curriculum
My approach is to start with general guitar skills and then branch off from there depending on each student's goals. As soon as possible, I like to get a specific song goal to work towards, which I find provides the most excitement and motivation to keep digging into guitar.
Credentials & Affiliations
I have been offering lesson at a local guitar shop several years, and I just began offering private guitar, bass, and ukulele lessons. I have taught across all ages and skill levels. I have over a decade of teaching experience beyond teaching guitar. I've also been in several bands, including a Led Zeppelin cover band during my college years.
