About

Laura Sawosko is a singer songwriter in Nashville, TN who has been teaching piano for 20+ years.  She has students of all ages from beginner to intermediate and caters each lesson plan to the particular interest of the student.  Laura’s main priority is for her students to love the piano as much as she does and play songs that they enjoy!  

Laura was the keyboardist in the band Surrender Dorothy which opened for Lilith Fair with Sarah McLachlin, Sheryl Crow, and Dido.  Laura is also an established songwriter and has opened for other major artists including Edwin McCain and Sarah Buxton during her successful solo career.  Laura received the Josie Music Award for Americana Album of the year at the Grand Ole Opry.  

Teaching Style

Laura's main objective is to make piano fun and believes everything else including knowledge of music theory will follow.  

Curriculum

Laura combines sheet music books with letter chord charts to get the students playing songs as soon as possible while they learn.

Credentials & Affiliations

Laura Sawosko graduated Cum Laude from Arizona State University with a degree in Music Composition.
