About

I'm the managing director of Singing Mother Studio. I teach a variety of singing styles including, classical, opera, lyrical, belt, and pop. I've studied with Jennifer Welch-Babidge (Metropolitan Opera Singer), Carla Rae Cook (Brigham Young University), Darrel Babidge, (Brigham Young University) Cindy Dewey (Utah State University) and Martha Glissmeyer (Brigham Young University). In 2010 I won the classical division for the National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition, and won the classical division again for NATS in 2017. I also came in first place in the Distinguished Young Woman Competition in 2010 in their talent portion of the contest and first overall in the competition. I've been in operas and professional choirs and have taught voice for 5+ years. I now record in my studio and compose and arrange songs and teach young singers. I'm a proficient pianist and can accompany my students and provide them with minus tracks to practice with. Once a month they will record their polished songs and then I will mix them for them to keep and share with friends and family.

Teaching Style

Every voice is completely unique and beautiful in its own way. I'm committed to the health of my students' voices and the joy that comes from healthy singing. I care more about how natural and healthy their voice feels and sounds, rather than trying to make them sound like me or anybody else. I want you to find your own unique voice and sing like "you". I'll teach you healthy and fun exercises to strengthen your vocal muscles and help you gain confidence, as well as being a mentor that you can report to on your progress and help you find appropriate repertoire, venues and online resources/recording opportunities to share your unique gift of singing and musicianship. I can teach pronunciation of French, Italian, German, English, and Spanish. I am classically trained, but can sing and teach any style. I record a number of different styles, including pop, classical/opera, musical theater/belt, lyrical and folk.  I'm a composer as well, and a recording engineer and can help you with learning the skills for those as well. Never seek to please others with your voice, but sing for the joy of it and the joy your unique sound brings to the world. "Joy in singing" is my motto.
