About

am Leonardo Furore, a passionate composer and musician specializing in creating soundtracks for films, video games, and animations. Born and raised in Italy, I pursued my artistic journey by earning a BA in Guitar Performance from the University of Chichester and an MA in Film and Game Scoring from the Film Scoring Academy of Europe.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of contributing to various high-profile projects across different media. In the gaming industry, I have composed original music for titles such as Infinity Nikki by Papergames, Where Winds Meet by NetEase, and DNF Duel. My work spans epic boss fight themes, serene ambient tracks, and dynamic trailer scores, showcasing my versatility and ability to adapt to diverse creative visions. In the world of cinema, I have scored films such as Scars of War and Warpigs, collaborating closely with directors and producers to enhance storytelling through music.

Teaching has also been a significant part of my journey. I have worked as a private instructor in guitar and composition, designing tailored programs that cover music theory, orchestration, MIDI programming, and production techniques. These experiences have honed my skills in mentorship and communication, allowing me to inspire others while sharing my knowledge.

I have had the honor of participating in masterclasses with renowned composers like Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings) and James Newton Howard (Fantastic Beasts), further refining my craft and gaining invaluable insights into the art of film scoring. My orchestral experience includes collaborations with the European Recording Orchestra, where I have worked on projects like Dark Inquisitor and Escape, conducting and directing ensembles of varying sizes.

Fluent in both Italian and English, I am deeply committed to creating music that resonates with audiences, elevating the projects I work on with a unique and memorable sonic identity. As my career continues to evolve, I strive to push creative boundaries and leave a lasting impact in the world of music for media.

Teaching Style

My teaching experience has primarily involved one-on-one private lessons, workshops, and masterclasses, where I apply a personalized approach to the studying of media scoring. In particular, I underscore the importance of acquiring a solid technical and historical foundation in classical music to support the composition creative process. On the practical level, I typically develop a syllabus that includes regular in-session or at-home assignments focusing on the analysis and evaluation of orchestration techniques and composition approaches in classical scores. My pedagogical approach relies mostly on a Socratic-Integrative approach that involves leading question-based sessions and building up of knowledge by association with other research areas, such as in the case of a comparative analysis between classical music and modern compositional approaches. Moreover, I aim to foster a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative learning environment in which all students may feel safe and welcome to participate and make their contributions.
