About

Louie Pearlman has been an innovator and a maverick of the New York City comedy and arts scene since 2002. During his career, he's taught comedy, public speaking, and team-building across the continent with students of all ages.

Louie is currently a writer on seasons two and three of Sesame Street's podcast "Foley and Friends," airing on the Audible platform. His officially-licensed Archie Comics/Riverdale stories "Nice Girls Finish Last," and “Riverdale’s Worst Nightmare” can be read on the platform Yarn. Louie also co-hosts and produces the pop culture podcast XOXO Riverdale, and the live streaming radio show Kick The Jukebox. His pieces have appeared on Gizmodo, Rebeat Magazine and Tough Pigs. He is also proud to be the co-writer and creator of the “Sugar Sweet Sixties Bubblegum Musical” Joey and Ron, which enjoyed a run at The Player’s Theater in NYC in 2019.

For over ten years Louie has been a producer, director, performer and teaching artist with the nationally recognized arts education company Story Pirates, where he's performed nationally in theaters, music festivals and schools.

Earlier on in his creative life, he jump-started the careers of Ezra Miller (Justice League) and Griffin Newman (The Tick) as the Artistic Director of the Comedy program at Buck's Rock Creative and Performing Arts Camp. They're both playing superheroes in movies and TV shows now, so that's pretty cool.

Teaching Style

I believe that a good foundation in the arts can help students express themselves, learn to work as a team and grow socially, emotionally, and intellectually. I try to tailor my classes to students' individual needs and meet them where they are on their path as young artists.
