About

Hello! I’m a professional pianist, flutist, and composer with a rich background in both performance and composition. I graduated from Berklee College of Music and also earned an MFA in Media Scoring from the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema. With over 20 years of experience playing piano and flute, I’ve performed in a wide range of settings—from chamber ensembles and full orchestras to pop and classical concerts, serving both as a soloist and a section player. My diverse background allows me to offer fully personalized lessons in various styles, including classical, pop, film music, world music, and animation scoring. If you're interested in learning piano, flute, or diving into composition—whether for personal enjoyment or professional development—I’d love to help guide your musical journey. Let’s create music that’s meaningful, inspiring, and uniquely yours.

Teaching Style

My goal is simple: to help my students achieve their goals. Every lesson is customized based on what each student wants to accomplish. Before we begin, I take time to understand your interests and aspirations so I can design a plan that truly fits you.

I'm passionate about teaching and always patient — I make sure you fully understand each step before moving on. In online lessons, I don’t just demonstrate; I also share my screen, including music books or materials when needed. Even my youngest online student, just 5 years old, learns without any trouble!

All ages and experience levels are welcome. I firmly believe it's never too early or too late to start learning something new. If you’re curious and ready to learn, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

Curriculum

Students should have access to their own instrument — piano, flute, or the necessary tools for composition. Weekly lessons are recommended to ensure steady progress and consistency.

I assign homework after each lesson to help reinforce what we’ve learned. That said, I understand that life can get busy! If you haven’t had time to practice during the week, that’s okay — we can still have the lesson, and I’ll review everything with you to help you stay on track.

For flute students, I typically use the Rubank Elementary Method and Rubank Advanced Method books. For piano students, I recommend either the Piano Adventures series or Alfred’s Basic Adult Piano Course, depending on age and experience level. I’ll help you choose the most appropriate materials when we begin.

In addition to assigned materials, I encourage students to explore music they’re personally excited about. Once you reach a certain level, you’ll have the opportunity to select your own pieces outside of the regular books — a great way to stay motivated and make your learning experience more enjoyable.
