Madison Warren

Madison Warren is a freelance horn player based in Rochester, New York. She is the Principal horn player of the Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes, and regularly performs with several orchestras in the surrounding area, including the Rochester
Philharmonic, the Buffalo Philharmonic, the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, the Syracuse
Orchestra, and the Binghamton Philharmonic. She also plays as a local performer in off-Broadway productions that come to Rochester, including The WIZ and Funny Girl, as well as summer operas put on by the Finger Lakes Opera and Geneva Light Opera. A graduate of Oberlin Conservatory,
Madison completed her Bachelor of Music in Horn performance under the guidance of
Roland Pandolfi in 2018. Soon after, she went to study at the Eastman School of Music
in Rochester, where she completed her Master of Music in Performance and Literature
as a recipient of the Performer’s Certificate under the instruction of W. Peter Kurau.
Although orchestral playing drew Madison into her career, she became
captivated by new music while playing in smaller contemporary ensembles. She was
recently able to experience the combination of modern music and orchestral
playing while participating in the Lucerne Music Festival this past summer in
Switzerland, performing with the Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra. When not
making music, Madison enjoys being outside and growing, cooking, and eating plants.

As a teacher, Madison is most interested in helping students find ease and integrity in their horn playing, whether the goal is to have fun and make music casually or pursue performance as an amateur player or professional. You will learn how to practice and detect problems and how to work on them so that you can pick up good habits early on in your journey and improve with more joy and ease. Madison will adapt her teaching to your goals and needs.
