Awesome lesson for limited time. Learned some technique that needed fixing!
Excellent! I learned a lot and the teacher was very accommodating.
Margaret is a fantastic instructor! She is kind, patient, and a brilliant musician. I was nervous to start learning an instrument as an adult, but Margaret has been so helpful and encouraging. I always look forward to my weekly lesson :)
Margaret is great! She is great at tailoring lessons to my knowledge and interests, and she's great at being nonjudgmental and helpful when I struggle with things. I am a new fiddler, and she has helped me learn some very fun songs and techniques already!
Margaret is an excellent instructor - very patient and very clear. Really enjoying my lessons! Highest recommendation for her!
I appreciate Margaret's patience while teaching me the basics and strings of my Violin. I have never played any instrument before, and since taking Margaret's class, I feel that I can finally learn to play well now and in the future with her instructions. Thank you Margaret!
My daughter likes the lesson
I have enjoyed my lessons with Margaret., I appreciate her patience and the time she takes to help me learn how to hold and play my Violin correctly..
This was my fifth lesson with Margaret as an older adult. Four weeks of practicing and I have learned so much already. Margaret’s guidance has been fantastic throughout. She is intuitive and patient, takes her time to go over everything, listens, and provides great feedback. She makes sure I don’t have any questions or issues by the end of the lesson. She is a great teacher. I highly recommend her.
My first lesson was great! I am finally going to be able to play my Violin. I am looking forward to my next lesson.
I'm very happy after the first lesson. I'm having trouble holding the bow and she came up with a solution. She pointed out that my bowing needs correcting and gave me a way to improve it. She walked me through the first lesson and answered all my questions. I'm happy to have a practice plan and look forward to the next lesson.
The lesson went terrific, was very pleased and look forward to my next lesson.
First lesson went very well! Margaret asked what I wanted to work on and had several suggestions for how we could accomplish that. I’m looking forward to my next lesson!
A wonderful first lesson! I am an older adult learner (51) and completely new to the violin. Margaret did a wonderful job helping me with the mechanics of holding the bow, the violin, and bowing. She gave me some helpful tips on what to look out for and how to best practice. She is patient and knowledgeable. She is a great resource and always ready to answer any questions I might have. I look forward to my next lesson with her!
Great first lesson!

Margaret was is friendly and patient. She gives good feedback and gave me advice on how to improve my playing. I am looking forward to learning more from her!
Margaret is knowledgeable and patient. She has a calm and gentle demeanor, that put my shy/timid daughter at ease during her lesson. Glad we found her!
very helpful lesson!
Margaret is an excellent teacher! I thoroughly enjoyed the lessons and feel very good about my progress.
Very patient and kind. Really enjoyed my first lesson!
I give Margaret a 5 star, and the platform a 1 star and im upset i cant rate as such. I couldn't get our lesson to work, the site is full of bugs and the customer service is completely unhelpful, but Margaret went above and beyond to make sure my daughters lesson went on anyway, sent me music, and tried to make it as painless as possible. The platform SUCKS and I feel sorry for the people who have to put up with it. Who can teach when they're dealing with tech issues??
wish I could get lessons daily..cant afford it. this instructor is great..
Understanding, kind, and very knowledgeable. I am loving my lessons.
Margaret is a seasoned violinist. She’s very professional, yet personable. Margaret is also patient, and helps her students give attention to details so that they will be successful at reaching whatever goal sought after. You wont go wrong by choosing such an amazing instructor!
Margaret is wonderful! As a an adult learner with little music experience, I really appreciate Margaret's patience and encouraging manner. After just a few weeks of lessons, I can already see progress and I look forward to continuing to learn with this awesome teacher.
Margaret is a very patient and talented soul. Thank you ! will be taking additional lessons!
I just completed my fifth lesson out of my 10 lesson package with Margaret. She is wonderful! Always exactly on time, provides clear instruction and is very encouraging and patient with beginners. I'm an adult who is just now learning to read music, and she makes it way less scary! Definitely recommend taking lessons with her.
Margaret has been great! My 13 year old is enjoying lessons and is having fun learning a new style. Margaret gives clear directions, demonstrates how to play and explains everything really well. She recommends different bands to watch and listen to as well. She was understanding when I had to change the schedule for a couple lessons, which I really appreciated. We are so happy to have found such a wonderful online teacher.
Margaret is awesome! She is super patient and is a great teacher. I learned a lot from her.
Nice first lesson.
Margaret is a very helpful instructor.
This was my first experience with an instrument at all, as an adult. Margaret was very kind, patient, and helpful. We got further on lesson #1 than I ever imagined!
She is very patient and answers questions. I enjoy having her as a teacher.
very good teacher
Great experience!
she's great!
AWESOME
My son (almost 7-years-old) just finished his first lesson with Margaret. She was able to explain things in a way that he understands. He was able to get a good idea of how to hold his fiddle and bow...which is a hard skill to teach online. He is very shy, but was comfortable with having me sit next to him. After the lesson, he told me, “That was worth every minute!” He loved it.
She was really kind an patent. She is willing to help me practice my own picks for music!
Very nice and patient! Looking forward to more !
My 10 year old son had been taking face to face weekly lessons in a local academy prior to his first online lesson with Margaret. She made my son feel comfortable and she took a very "hands on" approach in learning where my son was at in terms of skills and knowledge and getting right to work. Margaret was open to teaching songs my son likes to play in addition to those in the workbook. Overall, a great first lesson!
Great Instructor!!! Could not be Happier!
My first lesson with Margaret was really great! I hadn't played an instrument since I was nine years old, and Margaret met me right where I am. Her tips came through the online format crystal clear, and I ended the lesson knowing exactly what to work on and why it'll be important. I'm so excited for more lessons!
Very patient, knowledgeable, and able to analyze areas students must work on
Great first lesson!
Margaret was very professional and patient with my 7 year old.
This was my first lesson but she helped me correct the mistakes I was making holding the fiddle and the bow, and she is very encouraging while I am learning to play and still making not so pretty sounds. She made me feel comfortable making mistakes and I was not nervous at all. I'm looking forward to my next lesson.
Margaret is kind and supportive, and I look forward to more lessons with her!
My GrandDaughter is very happy with them
Very thorough and flexible with her teaching!
Very helpful and very straightforward toward of what was presented
I had a great experience of restarting my violin practice. Margaret was warm and patient. I'm looking forward to more lessons going forward.
Awesome coach. knows her stuff.
Margaret is the best violin teacher!
Margaret is a wonderful instructor who provides excellent teaching. I really appreciated that she made a point of not only explaining how to hold the bow, the violin, etc, but also explaining why it's important to use certain positions and posture and how it all comes together as one continues to practice. She's also super friendly and how's a very positive and welcoming demeanor.
I am a beginner. Her instructions are very clear and simple. She makes sure that I understand the basics concepts really well. I really enjoy going to her classes.
The instruction is clear, and pleasant. And the suggestion was very helpful. Enjoyed!
I'm 57 years old, have never played before. Margaret made me feel relaxed and confident. Excellent teacher, very attentive, very patient and good communication skills. I look forward to my coming lessons.

Teaching Style
I teach beginner and intermediate classical violin to adults and kids age six and older, and welcome adult beginners. I teach online lessons only. I offer an approach to classical violin studying the Strictly Strings and Suzuki Books, emphasizing technique, reading music, and music theory. I can also provide tutoring for school orchestra members and assistance with school music class music. I offer the option of written music theory homework.
I teach bluegrass fiddle using an approach designed to help students be able to learn both by ear and with sheet music, and to prepare to play with other musicians or attend bluegrass jams, as well as play with good technique and posture. I teach children age six and older, and adults, beginner and intermediate level, and welcome adult beginners. I teach online only. Students use the book Jack Tuttle's Bluegrass Fiddle Primer, by Jack Tuttle, if they can already read music. Students who do not yet know how to read music should start with Strictly Strings Violin Book 1. I offer the option of written music theory homework.
Studio Policies: 15 minute free trial lessons are limited to 1 per student or family. I have a 24 hour cancelation policy, which is 24 hours notice is required to cancel a lesson without paying except in the case of sudden illness, which occurred at a time which made it impossible to give 24 hours notice. My lessons are available to kids age six or older, and adults of all ages. I offer lessons either at a regular weekly time, or on a by appointment basis, I don't offer biweekly lessons. If you have a regular weekly time, I automatically expect you for lessons every week unless one of us cancels, this includes holidays, so if you want to skip a lesson for a holiday, you must still contact me to cancel, and give 24 hours notice, or the lesson must still be paid for. I hold lesson times for absent or vacationing students for absences of up to two weeks length. For longer absences, students must give up their regular time and take a new one when they return. I schedule lessons for established students that do not have a recurring weekly time 7 days or less before the lesson, and for new students, 14 days or less before the lesson. I will reschedule your lesson if I can, but may not be able to, and only reschedule within the original week the lesson was scheduled.
