Maria Galkina
About
I am a dedicated and passionate musician with extensive training and experience in both performance and teaching. I began my musical journey at the age of four, guided by my parents, who are both musicologists. Over the years, I have honed my skills in violin, baroque violin, viola, and baroque viola, supported by a strong foundation in music theory.
I hold degrees from prestigious institutions, including the Moscow State Conservatory, Conservatorium Maastricht, and the University Mozarteum Salzburg.
As a private teacher since 2013, I have enjoyed helping students discover and develop their talent. In addition to teaching, I have a diverse professional background as a freelance musicological and academic paper editor and coach since 2016.
My performance experience includes working with esteemed ensembles such as the Mozarteum New Music Ensemble, Salzburger Hofmusik, and the Salzburg Orchestra Soloists. In 2022, I made my debut as an opera conductor. I also enjoy working with my own newly established ensemble, Noricum Group. I am passionate about sharing my love of music and helping others develop their talents and achieve their musical goals.
Teaching Style
I believe it is crucial to find an individual approach for each student, tailoring lessons to their unique needs and abilities. My goal is to make learning music a joyful and fulfilling experience, fostering a love for the instrument and a deep understanding of musical expression.
While I have a deep love for classical music, I also incorporate pop, rock, and jazz into my teaching because I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to play what they enjoy and learn through a variety of styles.
