About

Maria Semes is a tenured member in the viola section of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Prior to joining the Baltimore Symphony, Maria was a tenured member of the Louisville Orchestra violin section from 2014-2022. She played in the first violins for 5 years and then was 3rd chair in the second violins. 

During the summer season, Maria plays with the Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Maria studied at the Juilliard School where she received her bachelor and master of music, her teachers were Naoko Tanaka and David Chan.

Teaching Style

I have been teaching students of all ages for over 15 years.

Curriculum

I can teach beginner- advanced to all ages on both violin and viola. 
 

I can help prepare students for orchestra, chamber music and private lessons.
 

I can come up with different plans tailored to what you hope to achieve through these lessons.
