Hi! I’m Marj, a multi-instrumentalist, DJ, and music producer with over 20 years of experience playing piano and a deep passion for helping others discover their musical voice. I studied at the University of Miami and have since built a dynamic career performing, producing, and teaching music around the world.
As a performer and DJ, I’ve played in clubs, theaters, stadiums, and festivals across the globe. As a producer, I’ve written countless jingles for major brands, scored music for film and television, and I’m currently working with Sony Music as a co-producer for the band DARUMAS. These diverse experiences have given me a well-rounded, real-world perspective that I bring into every lesson.

My teaching approach is flexible, supportive, and tailored to each student’s goals—whether you're learning piano, exploring production, or curious about DJing. I believe music should be fun, empowering, and a tool for self-expression, no matter your age or experience level.

Curriculum
I tailor my teaching approach to each student’s individual goals, learning style, and musical interests. With a strong foundation in classical training and over 20 years of experience, I combine traditional technique with modern, creative methods to keep lessons engaging, challenging, and fun.
For beginners, I focus on building solid fundamentals—reading music, finger technique, rhythm, and ear training—while incorporating songs that inspire them. For intermediate and advanced students, I dive deeper into expression, style, improvisation, and repertoire, covering everything from classical pieces to pop, jazz, and contemporary genres.
I also help students develop musicality, confidence, and a strong understanding of theory, so they’re not just playing notes, but truly making music. Whether you're preparing for performances, auditions, or just playing for enjoyment, I’ll support your journey every step of the way with a positive, personalized approach.
Credentials & Affiliations
As an educator, I have been teaching piano, music production, and live performance techniques since 2011. From 2015 to 2020, I taught private lessons in-person, traveling to students' homes. During the pandemic, from 2020 to 2022, I transitioned to teaching virtual lessons — a format I continued while on tour through 2024. I’ve also been invited to speak at various music events and workshops, including a recent university showcase in Mexico, where I presented on piano technique, live performance, and music production.
As a producer and composer, I have written and produced music for a wide range of media, including jingles, film scores, commercial campaigns, and artist releases. My commercial clients include Chevrolet, FreshBooks, MTV, Toyota, E-ZPass, and Servpro, among others. I also recently completed production of Daruma's debut album, released through Sony Music.
As a performer, I have had the opportunity to perform on some of the world's biggest stages. In 2022, I performed at Coachella with Karol G as a DJ and multi-instrumentalist. In 2023, I performed at Rock in Rio with various artists, and in 2025, I performed at Lollapalooza with Daruma's, where I played piano, DJ’d, and provided vocals. From 2021 to 2024, I spent most of my time touring across the United States and Latin America, completing three to four major tours during this period. In 2024, I had the honor of serving as musical director for Daruma's live broadcast performance at the Latin Grammy Awards.
