Mary-Francis Kobelt
About
Hi! I’m Frankie, a Montreal-based singer, actor, and music educator with a double honours degree in Drama and Music from Bishop’s University. I’ve been performing for over a decade, and I currently teach voice at the Académie de musique Vivaldi in Brossard. I was nominated for Outstanding Lead Performance and Outstanding Emerging Artist at the META Awards (Montreal English Theatre Awards) for my role as Carrie in Carrie: The Musical.
I work with students of all levels and ages—from total beginners to experienced performers—offering supportive, personalized lessons tailored to each voice. My goal is to help you build confidence, develop healthy technique, and express yourself freely through song. I teach using piano or guitar accompaniment, and I love helping students connect with music they truly enjoy, whether that’s pop, folk, musical theatre, or anything in between.
My lessons are friendly, focused, and collaborative. Whether you’re preparing for an audition, working on vocal control, or just singing for the joy of it, I’m here to support your journey with warmth, creativity, and clear guidance.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is supportive, creative, and student-centered. I adapt each lesson to the individual—whether you're a complete beginner, a shy singer, or a seasoned performer looking to refine your technique. I focus on healthy vocal habits, expression, and building confidence in a relaxed, encouraging environment. Lessons often include warmups, technique work, and fun, meaningful song exploration. I also accompany students on piano or guitar to make it musical and dynamic.
