Matthew Eller
About
Hello! My name is Matthew and I have been teaching Voice and beginner piano for almost 10 years. I have my degree in Vocal Music Education and teach students of all ages. I keep each lesson fun and relaxed as we work on various songs and skills!
Teaching Style
My general approach is to let to my students focus on their interests and music preferences as we cover the fundamentals and then guide them through different styles to teach them new skills as they become more proficient. I emphasize the fun and joy we can experience through music!
With piano students I emphasize learning chords early on. I find that it helps to round out their learning and unlocks a world of new styles and songs to explore!
Curriculum
I use the "Piano Adventures" series by Randall and Nancy Faber as our core curriculum for younger piano students and Alfred's "Adult All-In-One Course for older students. I supplement this with additional music depending on each students personal style and interests.
