Matthew Jarosch
About
Native to Elk Grove Village, Illinois, Matt Jarosch is one of the most in-demand trombonists in the Chicagoland area. As a recent graduate of DePaul University, he studied under Thomas Matta, Tim Coffman, and Charles Vernon (Chicago Symphony Orchestra). In his time at college, he received a bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies and a minor in Mathematics.
Currently, he resides in the city and serves as the brass instructor at Chicago High School for the Arts, in addition, he maintains his own private studio. As a freelance musician, you can find him performing at venues such as The Green Mill, Fulton Street Collective, The Jazz Showcase, and Andy's Jazz Club, to name a few.
He regularly performs with the MJ5 (Matt Jarosch Quinet), Alan Gresik Swing Orchestra, The Chicago Afrobeat Project, and 10-piece funk orchestra, the Nasty Snacks. Taking independent work in the area, he has performed with reputable musicians, ensembles, and corporations including,
Louis Cole, Genevive Artadi, Nicholas Payton, Melba Moore, Ten City, Victor Garcia, Charles Vernon, Thomas Matta, Bobby Broom and Denis Carrol. Matt also has worked with the Chicago Jazz Orchestra, Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Cubs, and United Airlines.
