He helped me with a pronunciation matter, and instantly, everything I'd had trouble with made perfect sense. I hope to take different lessons with him soon. And, I highly recommend him.

Lance helped my daughter prepare for a vocal audition for admittance to a performing arts high school. Lance understands vocal arts at an expert level and was able to fine tune her technique and performance. Thanks to his teaching and support she was confident and well prepared for her audition.

I have been taking lessons with Lance for a couple months now. He is a rare gem of a teacher. I know a lot of music instructors that are fantastic musicians but have no idea how to teach. Lance knows how to balance structure and the student's interest that allows you to see meaningful progress in a direction that you want. I can't recommend Lance enough to somebody interested in taking voice lessons.

Lance has been phenomenal. He is patient, kind and helps you feel safe to stumble along the process on the journey towards your goals. He has an excellent ear and visual understanding of how to diagnose tension quickly and effectively. I chose Lance based on his description of being specifically educated on the anatomical functions of the voice. My issue was feeling tension arise even in my speaking voice. I know that for me to adequately reach more advanced singing goals, I would first have to establish a solid, sustainable and healthy foundation of good practice starting at the very basics. Lance has been stellar in that regard. Upwards and onwards we go.

As a complete beginner, I started taking vocal lessons 6 months ago with Lance. In that time I have greatly increased my vocal control, pitch, placement, range, ear, and confidence. He has been extremely patient and provides a comfortable environment for trying new things out, which has been invaluable for progress. He also has imparted on me some of his great musical background which has helped me more deeply understand and appreciate the music I am performing. I look forward to continuing lessons with Lance and seeing progress towards my musical goals.

Lance gave me good basic tips for the alto saxophone, as this is my first attempt at playing an instrument. He was kind, professional & encouraging. I’m looking forward to working on my homework.

I have worked with Lance for few months and I want to thank Lance for everything that he has helped me to improve my singing skills. I've been with other music directors and conductors through out my life, and I can say for sure that he has very sharp ears to catch your mistakes and provide proper strategies to help you improve. He is also very easy to talk to and very encouraging. Just from speaking with him, you can just tell that he is very knowledgeable musically. If you're not sure who to take your voice lessons with, please don't hesitate to choose Lance because you will not regret at all. I am very picky with teachers and I've researched a lot before I decided to take my lessons with him. I am very happy that I made my decision to move forward with him.

My son is 6 and has been taking piano lessons from Lance. Lance is extremely patient in dealing with my son's small attention span. My son has learned so much such as reading sheet music and training his ear. He looks forward to lessons every week.

Lance is helping my teenage son prepare for a role in a musical this fall. He has been a great fit--fun and with a great sense of humor and at the same time very skilled at vocal techniques and working the music to create a better performance. Lance offers practical tips and has a flexibility to his teaching that makes him very responsive to questions.

Quite a lot of improvement so far compared to when I started and noticed by people close to me, even though I would guess it takes still more time and efforts to achieve a reasonable level. So a good reason to keep on with Lance. He is patient and insightful in his instructions, and rather fun too. Helping me to improve! I would like to continue improving.

Lance is an amazing teacher who is very patient and knowledgeable. Quite frankly, I think he is over qualified. I would especially reccomend him if you are interested in both singing and understanding music.

I’ve started both speaking voice and singing lessons with Lance. My primary goal was to speak with a less nasal voice. Lance does a great job of explaining what is happening mechanically when you produce sound with your voice, and how to manipulate your voice by manipulating muscles in your mouth/throat. He also gave me exercises to help me develop a feel for controlling these muscles, which have been helpful. I’ve only had 3 lessons so far, and I’ve already had someone tell my that my voice sounds significantly better / less nasal, so I’m very happy with the results Lance has helped me produce so far!

Lance is a fantastic teacher with a huge depth and breadth of musical knowledge. He has great content to guide you in your learning, but can just as easily spend a lesson diving deep into a specific topic you're interested in, be it technique, instrument care, theory, etc. Definitely recommend!

We can't say enough about our 16-year-old daughter's Broadway singing lessons with Lance. Her confidence sky rocketed after the very first lesson!! She really looks forward to each and every weekly lesson. Our daughter has a strong background in competition dance and has experience in plays, but the confidence from the singing lessons is over the top! She sounds great!

Lance is an amazing teacher. He has been very adaptable to my learning style and pays close attention to the music that I like make sure that I learn efficiently. He provides me with a lot of material that clearly matches my skill level while also challenging me.

Dr. Lance is an excellent piano teacher. My kid was a beginner when joined his class and started learning from him. He likes his teaching and he shows much interest in playing piano after school hours and also he has good progress now.

I've been taking vocal lessons with Dr. Lance Russell for about 6 months. He's super knowledgeable, as others have said, and is great at making you feel at ease. I've seen a lot of progress in the time I've worked with him and would definitely recommend others to reach out.

Lance has a deep understanding of how sound is produced. This covers physical factors, like what each throat muscle is doing, as well as mental factors that can cause a singer to tense up or slip into a bad habit. He's able to take these insights and share them in a way that students can understand, along with tips that can be acted on to start improving right away. While highly professional, he's also easygoing and makes even beginner students feel comfortable.

Lance is very well prepared to help a beginner sax player like me to learn the fundamentals. He has plenty of drills, songs to learn, and other resources for any question I have. He's also happy to share his very deep knowledge of singing and music theory. Definitely would recommend!

My personal lessons with Lance have been extremely productive and in 2 months I have already greatly improved my singing. The creative space in my lessons have aloud me to feel more excited and confident about my singing. I have tried my fair share of voice teachers and Lance is by far my favorite and would strongly recommend. Personally I have never had an encouraging experience with voice lessons and Lance has helped me go so far out of my comfort zone and I am very happy with How much my singing has improved.

Lance is my first voice teacher. I decided to take lessons in preparation for reading poetry and short stories. Lance encouraged me to keep singing because he believes that I have a great voice. Lance is a master teacher across a range of skills. He's just as good teaching you to sing an interval as he is suggesting chord progressions or analyzing song structure. At every step of the way, he is patient and enthusiastic, and has concrete, useful ideas about how to get you from A to B.

My granddaughter Selita is 8 years old and eally enjoy learning basic piano theory and practices from Dr. Lance. It's been over a month and I see a tremendous difference in Selita's style with playing the piano. Selita knows beginner music practices as harmony. What I appreciate the most about coach Lance is his ability to explain the science behind our voices and how we can control or manipulate our airway to hit certain notes/pitch. Although I am just a beginner, I am super excited to see how far I can go with Lance as my coach!

Lance has been teaching my 8 year old piano for the last few months, and we love having him in our home. He has a wonderful personality, is punctual, communicative, & great with kids. My daughter told me recently that she wanted to be a music teacher- it’s obvious what a positive impact he’s made with her in such a short amount of time. I have to say that Michael is the best music teacher I ever had. and I have studied music for a long time. He is patient, thoughtful and his music skills are outstanding I recommended him as the best.

I am very pleased taking class of saxophone with Michael. This was my third lesson with him. Guess what! I can play a Happy Birth song by memory. He takes seriously to teach me how to read the music and how to recognize major scales. I look forward to learning more from him. I recommend if someone wants to take saxophone lesson, please pick Mike.
