About

I am a music educator, choir director, and vocal coach based in Lagos, Nigeria, with over a decade of experience teaching music in schools and church settings. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and currently teach and direct ensembles at BusyBees and WestMills British Schools, where I work with students of different ages and skill levels. My background includes choral directing, vocal training, music theory, sight-singing, ear training, and church music, with a strong focus on gospel and sacred music traditions.

My teaching approach is student-centered, practical, and encouraging. I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor lessons to individual goals, whether you are a beginner building confidence, a singer preparing for auditions, or a church musician seeking stronger vocal technique and musical understanding.

I create a supportive and disciplined learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing musically. Drawing from my experience as both a performer and educator, I connect theory to real musical practice, helping students understand not just what to sing or play, but why it works. My goal is to help students gain confidence, musical independence, and a deeper appreciation of music as both an art and a meaningful form of expression.

Teaching Style

I have over ten years of experience as a music educator and choir director, teaching in school and church settings in Lagos, Nigeria. I currently teach and lead ensembles at BusyBees and WestMills British Schools, where I work with students on vocal technique, piano classes, musicianship, and ensemble performance. I have also served as a church choir director, introducing new repertoire and improving singers’ pitch accuracy, confidence, and musical discipline.

My teaching style is structured, practical, and supportive. I focus on building a strong sense of pitch, rhythm, and musical understanding, while adapting lessons to each student’s level and goals. I aim to create an encouraging learning environment that helps students grow musically and confidently.

Curriculum

My teaching approach is student-centered, structured, and practical. I focus on building strong fundamentals in pitch, rhythm, and musical understanding, while adapting lessons to each student’s learning pace and goals. Lessons combine demonstration, guided practice, listening, and repetition, with an emphasis on confidence, musical awareness, and consistent improvement.

Recommended Student Texts
Depending on the student’s level and goals, I commonly use basic music theory and sight-singing resources, hymnals and choral scores, and simple vocal exercises. I also incorporate listening examples and repertoire drawn from church music, gospel, and classical traditions to support both technical growth and musical understanding.
