About

Molly has focused on weaving for 14 years, but she is also fluent in papermaking, mixed media collage, and other fiber techniques. For the past decade she has pursued tapestry weaving; this work culminated in a solo show in 2018 in Atlanta, just before she relocated to New Mexico in 2018. This past year, her attention has shifted to weaving with paper, exploring the interaction and mutual disruption of painted and photographic images by the woven structure. Molly has rediscovered her delight in wild birds and their songs. A defiant joy in the beauty that remains balances out the grief she expressed in immediate past work that focused on the threat of wildfire to the high desert environment.

Molly earned an M.A. in Studio Art from the Hite Art Institute at the University of Louisville in 2002. Exhibition highlights include an earlier solo show at Mercer University in Atlanta (2009) and numerous juried and invitational shows nationwide. Molly has been published in a number of fiber art-related publications, and her work is in several private collections.

Besides making art, Molly is passionate about teaching it, with a particular focus on design principles and processes. She is based in Santa Fe, New Mexico and teaches both online and nationwide for guilds and conferences.
