Nathan Smith

Hi my name is Nathan and I have been playing guitar for 20 plus years. The beginning of my music journey started in the 3rd grade when I began playing the violin. When I was 13 I started playing guitar and fell in love. Through out school I continued to take orchestra, guitar and music theory until I graduated high school. I played in a local metal band for about 5 years and was able to get the chance to play live and in studio. If you have interest in things like drop tuning, 7 string playing, sweep picking, pinch harmonics or anything metal that's my specialty!

I learned and best understood tablature and that is how I teach my students. We will assess your goals and prioritize things you would like to learn. I will use tools such as tablature books, apps and websites such as songsterr or ultimate guitar. We will go over scales and modes that help you further understand how to play in the metal genre.
