Nicholas Bruno
About
I have extensive experience in both education and performance. I've been playing Trumpet for the past 16 years with teaching experience at the University, high school, and middle school levels. I have been a teacher in the cities of Los Angeles, New York, Oklahoma, and Illinois. As a professional Trumpet player I have performed with Three national Broadway tours: The Cher Show, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and A Christmas story. As well as had residencies in Hawaii and tour Europe playing anything from Latin to top 40s pop music, and much more. I am commercially and classically trained on Trumpet with a bachelors degree in Trumpet performance and currently in school, obtaining my masters in the same.
Teaching Style
I am a motivational teacher. I practice the pedagogy style of the late William Adam from IU. In this pedagogy we focus on the imagination of our ideal sound. We conceptualize this sound by listening to great trumpet players on a daily basis. This helps us form our ideal sound over time, as long as we are putting the necessary time into the horn. Each day is a drop in the bucket and we push to make every day better than the last.
