Olga Shishkina
About
Olga Shishkina is an internationally active gusli artist and educator, pianist, organist and composer with over 20 years of professional experience. She has performed in the USA, Japan and Europe and gave solo concerts in California, Paris on some of the world's best venues. Olga has played with the major symphony orchestras such as Mariinsky symphony, Slovak Radio symphony, Helsinki philharmonic and others. She has played on soundtracks to motion pictures and video games ("Torchlight 3", USA 2020; "Moscow Noir", Sweden 2018) and composed and performed film music ("To Siberia, with my love", Finland 2016). Olga has taught in St.Petersburg and Helsinki. In 2022 Olga was invited to teach gusli at Rachmaninoff Conservatory in Paris. Olga has given lectures at such established universities as Cambridge University (Trinity College, 2024: Clare College, 2007). In 2019 she worked as a conductor with Helsinki Balalaika Orchestra.
Olga has collaborated with some of the top-notch names in music industry such as the winner of Jacques Thibaud Competition Alexandre Brussilovsky (violin, Paris), the soloist of "Virtuoses of Moscow" Igor Goldenberg (organ, Russia) and many others.
Olga graduated summa cum laude from St.Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory as a gusli artist, pianist, organist and orchestra conductor (2008). In 2022 she received the certificate with the top grade from Berklee College of Music (Gary Burton: Jazz Improvisation). She also holds Master's Degree from Sibelius Academy (Helsinki).
Olga teaches above mentioned instruments, music theory, solfege and jazz improvisation. Olga speaks English, Russian, Finnish and currently improving her knowledge of French.
