Patricia Fernandes
About
Paty Fernandes is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and Latin Grammy®-nominated backing vocalist. Born and raised in Brazil, Paty knew from the age of 8 that music would be her life’s path. By 16, she was already in college studying music, and just a few years later, she earned her degree in popular singing and hit the stage with major Brazilian bands.
At 18, she won an international singing competition that took her to New York, where she recorded a single at Platinum Studio NY—produced by Wyclef Jean and co-produced by Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas. That early win launched a dynamic career that’s taken her to some of Brazil’s biggest stages and TV screens. For six years, she was a regular vocalist on the Raul Gil show band, aired nationwide on SBT, performing with top artists from Brazil and abroad.
Paty has recorded with celebrated musicians such as Jon Secada and appeared on O Bar Me Chama by Brazilian rock icons Velhas Virgens, an album that earned a Latin Grammy® nomination for Best Rock Album. She also performed on a live DVD recording with singer-songwriter Maurício Manieri.
In 2019, she released Último Dia, her debut single as a solo artist. Two years later, she released the album Da Nossa Terra with her husband, guitarist Leo Testoni, as part of their project, Duet Paty & Leo. Since then, the duo has performed throughout Europe, South America, and the U.S., gaining praise for their heartfelt performances and unique blend of Brazilian music, jazz, and pop.
In 2023, Paty recorded with Grammy® Award-winning drummer Danny Gottlieb (The Pat Metheny Group, Mahavishnu Orchestra). That same year, she delivered a powerful performance in Paris at Charisma Eglise Chrétienne, backed by a 40-piece band and choir for an audience of 5,000—broadcast live across the globe. In July 2024, she toured Italy, singing at renowned festivals including the Piazza Medaglia d’Oro Biagini Jazz Festival.
Now based in Los Angeles, Paty continues to explore new artistic horizons. A lifelong learner, she’s always composing, evolving, and embracing new challenges with passion, grace, and an unmistakable voice that captivates every audience.
Teaching Style
With years of experience performing on top stages and collaborating with some of the best in the industry, my teaching approach is grounded in both passion and practicality. I offer one-on-one lessons that are tailored to each student’s goals, whether you’re looking to improve your vocal technique, interpret Brazilian rhythms, or simply sing your favorite songs with confidence and style.
My lessons are customized to your pace and interests. We can focus on vocal warm-ups, breathing, tone, interpretation, or repertoire building—whatever helps you grow. I also bring in elements from my stage experience, helping students connect emotionally with the music and build presence as performers.
Whether you’re just starting out or already have experience, I create a supportive space where you can explore your voice freely. Together, we’ll find your sound, develop your technique, and make your musical journey enjoyable and truly your own.
