About

I’m a certified ESL teacher with several years of experience teaching both youth and adults from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. I began my teaching journey in 2020 through platforms like 51Talk and SPTR, where I developed a strong foundation in interactive, student-centered instruction. My academic background is in Social Work, which deeply informs my empathetic, supportive, and culturally sensitive teaching style.

I hold a TEFL certificate and a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Western Mindanao State University. I am also a licensed social worker, trained in trauma-informed communication and active listening—skills that help me create safe, respectful, and engaging learning spaces for all students.

My teaching approach is based on clear goals, positive reinforcement, and practical application. I focus on building speaking confidence, improving pronunciation, and expanding vocabulary through meaningful conversations, tailored lessons, and interactive materials. I make sure lessons are adapted to each learner’s pace, personality, and interests—whether that’s daily conversation, business English, travel, or academic support.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy watching dramas and anime, singing, traveling, and exploring international cuisine—which often become fun and relatable topics in class!

I’d love to support you in your English journey and help you build confidence and real-world communication skills. Let’s work together to make learning enjoyable and effective!

Teaching Style

My teaching style is warm, supportive, and student-centered. I create a relaxed and encouraging environment where students feel safe to speak, make mistakes, and grow. I adapt each lesson to your level, goals, and interests — whether you want to improve your conversation skills, grammar, pronunciation, or vocabulary.

I believe that learning is most effective when it's both practical and enjoyable, so I use real-life topics, interactive exercises, and positive reinforcement to keep lessons engaging. I’m also trained in trauma-informed and cross-cultural communication, which helps me connect meaningfully with learners from all backgrounds.

Whether you're a beginner building your foundation or an advanced speaker polishing your fluency, I’ll guide you with patience, clarity, and consistent encouragement.

Curriculum

My teaching method is communicative and learner-centered, focusing on helping students build confidence and fluency through real-life conversations, personalized feedback, and practical application. I begin by identifying your goals and language level, then tailor each lesson to suit your needs — whether you're aiming to improve everyday communication, pronunciation, grammar, or professional English.

Lessons are interactive and adaptable, often including:

  • Speaking and listening practice through real-world scenarios

  • Grammar and vocabulary in context

  • Pronunciation exercises

  • Reading passages or short texts

  • Optional writing practice and corrections

I incorporate both structured materials and natural conversation to keep lessons balanced, engaging, and relevant.

📖 Recommended Texts (as needed):

  • English Grammar in Use by Raymond Murphy (Intermediate+)

  • Side by Side (Beginner–Intermediate)

  • Oxford Picture Dictionary (for visual learners and beginners)

  • News articles, short stories, or media content (based on your interests)

  • Custom materials and worksheets I prepare for your level

I also integrate content from learners’ hobbies (e.g., anime, food, travel, movies) to make lessons meaningful and fun.
