Pedro Rocha

As a Bachelor in Popular Music, I have a strong background in Brazilian Popular Music, and a great love for Rock and Jazz music.

I have performed as an electric guitar player in some local bands in São Paulo, playing a wide range of musical styles, and also as an acoustic guitar player for a samba/bossa nova/choro group. I recorded the electric guitar parts for Stoneria’s debut album, in 2013, and for DNSM’s three-part EP, in 2018. DNSM has recently signed a contract with Secretaria da Cultura de São Paulo, for 3 concerts and a new CD to be happening in 2019.

As a teacher, I worked at João Paulo and Escola do Max, and I am currently working at Beit Yaacov, focusing in acoustic guitar lessons and small singing groups, from ages 9 to 14. I have experience as an electric guitar instructor and music theory teacher in several music schools, with students of different levels of knowledge and skills. 

I believe that music classes helps students to embrace each other, to accept their differences, and know they are equal, as they start at the same point in class. It also creates an enviroment where they can be courageous to express themselves, adapt to new information others may bring as the music flows, willing to listen a learn from classmates, and gives them tools to be resourceful. I also teach private lessons, to students in a wider range of age.
