Peter Lewy

I am a dedicated and passionate teacher of the cello and of music in general. I believe that through the study of the cello, and of music, a student can develop the necessary skills required to master any complex task and achieve all of their goals in life.  I have been performing in all styles of music as well as writing music in every genre.   To the task of teaching I bring years of experience of teaching students of all ages as well as of performing in countless venues and genres. I am certified as a Suzuki teacher from the school for strings and have taught adults in their 80's at workshops for adults that I have run for 25 years. I enjoy teaching students of all ages and levels and am sure I always will.  I hope I can help you realize your goals on the cello and in your life.

  I firmly believe students of every age can progress effectively on the cello if they approach the task properly.  To acheive this,  experienced quidance is invaluable. I try to make humor as important a part of my teaching as I do developing self discipline and good study habits.  I look to tailor my teaching to the specifics of each student.  Through my many years of teaching experience and my own consistent drive to better perfect my own technique I believe I can facilitate my students' success.
