Well structured class with practice speaking/pronouncing new phrases

I have been taking Prajakta's hindi classes for 1.25 years now to be able to speak hindi with my friends, coworkers, boyfriend and his family. Prajakta is always flexible with my ever-changing work schedule and she is encouraging when I am feeling a bit frustrated with my progress . Classes are always relevant to where I am in life and we discuss topics based on my day to day activities and what I am curious to learn about. You can expect Prajakta to be patient and reiterate over subjects and topics that haven't clicked yet. I am always looking forward to my classes each week and they are some of my favorite weekly moment.I cannot recommend Prajakta enough, I look forward to many more lessons this year.

I have been taking Hindi lessons with Prajakta for over 2 years now to be able to speak Hindi with my husband's family. I am not Indian and did not speak any Hindi prior to the lessons, but after Prajakta's lessons I was able to hold conversations with his family while visiting them in India and they were extremely impressed! Prajakta's lessons are tailored to the student's goals, and she has been able to teach me using the English alphabet since I preferred to focus on conversational Hindi rather than scripture and writing/reading. She comes up with creative, interesting topics each session to be able to teach new vocabulary. She is also excellent at explaining grammar so that I can better understand the concepts to be able to build and understand sentences on my own. There is also speaking practice each class. I thoroughly enjoy my lessons with Prajakta - she makes learning Hindi fun and interesting, and most importantly, it works!

Prajakta ma’am is a through and efficient Hindi teacher. I am an adult learner and I am learning Hindi at a very quick pace from her lessons. I have now had 5 lessons with Prajakta and she has taught me very usable Hindi in which I can have a basic conversation with my partner and our friends. She is patient and is very helpful in correcting my pronunciation. I am starting to understand and recognize words in conversations .

My kids ( 10 & 12 yrs old) started Hindi Lessons with Prajakta in July. My kids started with Prajakta as 100% non-hindi speakers. Our goal for them is to be able to speak conversational hindi. They have had 11 lessons so far with Prajakta and they are enjoying learning hindi. Prajakta makes the class fun and I always hear the kids laughing and giggling in their class. Prajakta has a good structure of teaching vocab and grammar and also reviews/tests them on knowledge from the last class, which makes them practice their Hindi in the week. Prajakta is probably one of the most dynamic professors that I have had the privilege of knowing! Her ability to convey to me the Hindi language in a manner that I do not feel intimated means a great deal. Ms Prajakta is a nice teacher. She taught my son Hindi from the basics. He is able to speak full sentences and name things in Hindi. One suggestion for Ms Prajakta is to talk to her students for 5 mins in her first class so that they get familiar with the teacher which will make them more comfortable. Not all kids are alike and for reserved kids to start talking to the teacher in the first class is bit challenging. Thanks for the time and effort.

I was looking for a tutor to help me learn conversational Hindi so that I am able to communicate with my partner's family, as they only speak Hindi. My native tongues are English and Russian and I did not speak any Hindi prior to seeking a tutor, aside from a few words retained from failed attempts at learning Hindi through Duolingo. After just four lessons with Prajakta, I am already seeing progress and am able to say basic phrases to practice with my partner. Prajakta is excellent at explaining the grammatical concepts and conjugation so that I can understand them properly to build sentences on my own rather than strictly memorizing, and is patient when I ask questions or struggle. She is also great at providing the proper phonetic pronunciation using English letters, as I mentioned I would prefer to focus my efforts on learning to speak and understand rather than read and write in Hindi. I also like that she asks me what phrases I'd like to learn as well as giving her own suggestions, so that it is more applicable to what I'd like to know how to say in conversations with my partner's family. All in all I am very impressed with Prajakta's ability to teach Hindi to beginners like myself and tailor lessons to each student's needs and preferences and would highly recommend her as a Hindi tutor!

I have been studying with Prajakta for 3months now once per week. My HIndi was basic words I strung together in my own way. Prajakta has been patient with me, trying to undo years of bad Hindi is not an easy task! I can now form simple sentences correctly, ask simple questions and I am enjoying all that I am learning. Just finished our first lesson and I found it very helpful to have someone give guidance on pronunciation. The lesson was casual and focused on real questions you may ask or respond to in real life. I enjoyed the time and the hour flew by.

I have spent a couple years trying to tackle Hindi. A language that I thought was “impossible” to learn if it wasn’t your native tongue. However, 13 classes with Prajakta and I’m starting to do more than just grasp the language. I have never had such a good experience with a class. She makes things easy to understand, really helps you gain the confidence to speak another language. I will continue to go to Prajakta as long as she will let me. I have gained more confidence to speak to my future in-laws in Hindi as well as watch more movies with less subtitles. I had my last 15th class with Prajakta-ji today and feeling sad that I have to take a break. I will really miss our classes. Not only she gave me a lot of grammar and talking practice, (much more than I hoped to get), but also her warm and motherly personality, very patient and strict too. She doesn't waste a single minute in a class for chit-chatting, she goes straight to the subject and doesn't let you get away even with slight mistakes. She will correct every single one and keep repeating the grammar rules for you until you get it. I am very happy that I was able to learn so much and very grateful to Prajakta that she was able to break my barrier to speak. Of course, one cannot learn the whole language in 15 lessons, but she covered a lot. I am hoping and intending to take more classes with Prajacta in the nearest future. Prajakta is my Hindi teacher! I was nervous about online lessons but she is very warm and patient! The online class works very well as it’s convenient timing from your own home. The format is constant interaction, reviewing word lists or practicing typical conversation phrases and topics. Even though it was my first class I was reciting entire sentences and phrases by the end of the first hour! Prajakta Repeates each word several times so I can pick up the correct accent and is patient as i sound out words and recite them a few times. She writes words and sentences on the whiteboard for me to note down spelling. We focused on spoken Hindi and I began learning the alphabet so I can read and write. Glad I signed up and can’t wait to see how fluent I am in 3 months!

My 11 year old daughter has been learning Hindi from Prajakta the last 3 months. Prajakta is a very experienced teacher, very punctual, dedicated, organized and makes the classes interactive and fun. My daughter very much enjoys these classes. We initially took a 10 lesson package and just renewed the lessons now. I I would highly recommend Prajakta.

We had a less than satisfactory experience with Prajakta after taking several lessons for our son. She appeared vey rigid and inflexible in her teaching approach and not at all open to feedback. Rather than teaching young students a version of hindi that could be used in everyday context, she has a syllabus that consists of rote memorization of several lists of words several of which will be used extremely infrequently (I am a proficient hindi speaker and many of the words I would never use myself). Also, for some inexplicable reason she was very against using the ****** classroom software which made our experience very troublesome. Seems like she does not have her hardware setup for providing lessons figured out. Our son takes lessons from few other TL teachers and never had any problems with the TL software - however, for every lesson with Prajakta we had to scramble to find alternative such as Skype, FaceTime etc leading to chaos. When sometimes there were technical issues due to the scrambling she was less than cooperative. All in all, of all the TL lessons our son is taking, this was the least favorable experience because of which we discontinued the lessons.

My 6 year old son is very resistant to Learning Hindi. Prajakta did a great job of keeping him engaged. There is a bit of writing in the lessons which required me to be part of the lesson as my son doesn't write that well yet. He learned letters, numbers, words and even sentence formation.

I had a very short amount of time to achieve an Intermediate Mid rating on the ACTFL test and with Prajakta's help I was able to achieve it. She went above and beyond to help me, and she passed on as much knowledge as she could. Prajakta is a great instructor and I'm enjoying my Hindi lessons with her. I had tried to learn Hindi on my own but found it difficult because it was more about memorizing phrases than really understanding the language and structure of the sentence. Having an instructor like Prajakta has been very helpful as I can ask questions and her lessons are fun with a variety of activities to help bring everything together.

After several failed attempts to get my 5 yr daughter to speak Hindi, I looked to online classes for some help and signed up for a 5 lesson session with Prajakta. Prajakta was always on time, and well-prepared with her lesson plan tailored to a 5 yr old. She also sent me coloring sheets and worksheets for writing practice so my daughter could stay interested and keep on practising. My daughter really enjoyed and looked forward to her classes. These are serious lessons that include learning to read and write Hindi as well. The only note of caution I would offer to other parents is that I felt that it would have helped the pace of the lessons if my child had been slightly older and able to write better, since you do need to write down words and sentences in both Hindi and the English translation during the lesson. All in all, I considered these sessions a good investment, because although she is still a long way from speaking comfortably in Hindi, the lessons served to kick-start her interest in learning the language. I am hoping we will be able to build on that foundation and encourage her to speak Hindi sentences more often.

After my initial introduction call with Prajakta ji she had convinced me that I need to get over my fear of learning Devangari and I'm so glad she did. I've memorized the vowels and am working to memorize the consonants. My first lesson went very smoothly. Prajaka was very accommodating to my needs. We were able to go over the basics (alphabet, numbers, some vocabulary) and discuss how future lessons will go.

Prajakta teaches Hindi very systematically and simply. She is very open to tailoring lessons to your specific needs.

In my English speak career, I had made many errors/ mistakes. If I had any doubts about nouns, pronouns, verbs, etc. I could ask her, she would answer my questions. she even sent material full of info on that topic to me so I could learn from it.Thank you so much prajakta.
