Hello there! I suppose if you’re reading this you’d like to walk away having learned a thing or two about me...I’ll do my best, but feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions. Originally from Toledo, Ohio, I am currently based out of Nashville, Tennessee. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Bowling Green State University (go Falcons!) and currently perform on bass, guitar, mandolin, vocals and any other stringed instrument needed for a show. I have my own original music project, the duo King Margo, and play in other bands including singer-songwriters Gabe Lee, Susan Werner and Jason Eady.

Absolutely amazing! My teacher helped and improved my skills just in the first lesson!
She was very patient with me
Rachel was great with my daughter—very patient, enthusiastic, and knew how to keep her attention. My daughter was so excited to keep playing after the lesson. And she can’t wait for next week.
Rachel is a very talented teacher. She is very encouraging and supportive. She can make learning fun. My daughter absolutely loves her sessions.
Rachel's amazing. She is definitely teaching an old dog new tricks.
Best instructor ever. Very patient. Knows how to handle an old guy like me. My playing doesn't really deserve someone as good, but I'm thankful to have her.
We love Rachel!!! She is patient and kind. She carefully explains what my daughter can do to improve her technique and tone. She is intentional in her instruction, making sure the basics are solid. She is an excellent bass instructor. Thanks Rachel!
My daughter was excited about the bass again after her lesson with Rachel. She is ready to step up her game and Rachel guided her patiently with thoughtful (not judgmental) encouragement. Looking forward to the next lesson 😊
She very detail and patience wit my first year, 11 year old kid. She knows when to push and when to ease up. My kid is gaining confidence in her playing.
Enjoyed first lesson. Looking forward to more!
Super great teacher!
Rachel was very patient at my first lesson which really relaxed me as I am a beginner beginner. She didn't skimp over the basics and was gracious with praise.
Charming and knowledgeable. Makes it easy for the student to understand.
Rachel is knowledgeable and so easy going. Really enjoying lessons.
She's very knowledgeable and patient. It's been many years since I've played but I feel completely comfortable and confident with her guidance.
Rachel was my first ever guitar teacher. But after about a year and a half with her I just got way to busy. To anyone that is looking for a teacher for any instrument I would defiantly recommend Rachel. She is such an amazing artist and just an amazing person.
Rachel is amazing! I’ve been playing violin my whole life and have still learned a ton just from the first few lessons. Also love that it’s online so I can take lessons without driving anywhere, very convenient.
Rachel is patient and listened to me... I think it is a good match...
Patient and positive!
I've only had one lesson so far, but Rachel did a great job. She is knowledgeable and very talented. I'm excited to continue on my rockin' acoustic guitar journey. I highly recommend her as she was super nice and very kind to come get me at the bottom of the hill, so I can find her studio in the future. I'm a newbie at guitar and don't know very much but she encouraged me & I can't wait to get further into it.
I like Rachel's approach to learning and her attitude. Relaxed and upbeat. Always has the next thing for me to add to my practice and suggestions for improving areas im struggling with.
She is great with young kids, and I enjoyed that she let my daughter apply what she learned and be creative during the lesson.
Rachel is amazing!!!! my daughter loves working with her.
Great lesson with Rachel.
Rachel is very professional as a music instructor. There's no doubt about her wealth of knowledge and experience. She is also very patient and explain things clearly, and she offers effective methods to improve my guitar technique. I've been learning guitar with Rachel for about one and a half month, and I've been steadily making progress. Besides, Rachel is a wonderful person to work with. Her passion and positive energy make learning a joyful experience. I trust her, and I feel lucky to have her as a teacher.
She was great. I May have to improve my computer bandwidth but we had a great time and she was very patient.
Lesson 1 was everything we expected. Looking forward to Lesson #2!
Rachel was calm and lovely and patient with my five year old showing her the violin and how it works. I think we're going to have a great experience working with her!
Rachael is excellent at recognizing my learning style and customizing her teaching method to best communicate key concepts to me.

She is awesome
Our daughter finds it easy and comfortable working with Rachel. She's very patient and detailed in her directions. She communicates well with us (the parents) which is helpful with feedback.
Our first lesson went very well. Rachel was very kind, patient, and complimentary. I look forward to my next lesson.
I took cello lessons from Rachel for several years. Although I had played piano as a child, I had not attempted to play a musical instrument for over forty years. Rachel was able to explain the instrument to me, and was very patient and encouraging. Her musical knowledge is extensive and she truly enjoys teaching. I highly recommend her as a teacher of any stringed instrument.
Rachel is very knowledgeable in music theory and she's able to explain it in a way that's easy to understand. She's a very talented player and an encouraging teacher.
Rachel is an excellent teacher. I started with her when I was 57 years old and have taken lessons for over 5 1/2 years. This is the first instrument I have ever played. Rachel is extremely patient and very attentive to details. She is extremely knowledgeable academically and has a lifetime of performance experience. Any student young or old would be proud to have her as their teacher.
Teaching Style
My job as your teacher is to meet you where you're at, and help you grow from where you are. If you've never played an instrument before, I can help you figure out your goals and where you wanna go with it. If you've been playing for a while, or are wanting to try a different instrument, I like to learn what you've already done and go from there in whatever direction you'd like to go. I typically will help you learn your instrument through note reading and music theory, and will assign a method book specific to your instrument to help guide you. I also like to use our time to learn the process of figuring out songs you want to learn how to play. My goal for you is to be an independent learner where you can take the skills we employ in our lessons with you so you can eventually figure things out on your own.
