My name is Riccardo Gresino –Berklee College of Music Alumni- Piano and Keyboard Player with over ten years of experience performing and educating.
A strong characteristic of my work is the ability to process the artist's message and translate it into sounds that convey exactly that feeling. In specifics, those can be harmonies, timbers, voicing, and melodies.
These skills require confidence in piano and keyboards, deep knowledge of music theory, and mastery of sound design/synthesis.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is interactive, shaped to the student's needs and goals.
As a teacher, my goal is to bring my students to the "understanding point".
I strongly believe that at that stage, the student can feel engagement and passion, both of which are crucial factors, and motivate them to walk on their own.
I love questions and challenges since they are the key to learning.
Curriculum
Berklee College of Music teaching method with focus on:
Contemporary Harmony: Jazz/Contemporary harmony, Chord extensions, analysis, etc.
Improvisation, Dexterity & Performance Skills on Piano: learning how to approach improvisation with a good and rich sound (healthy technique) and performance awareness.
Ear-Training: Movable Do system, Interval recognition, Chords recognition, Melodic, Harmonic, and Rhythmic dictation.
Programming Keyboard and Sound Design: Focus on how to master the usage of keyboards. This is an important skill especially in contemporary music. I offer courses with the focus on knowing the interface, re-create patches, learning fx etc..
