About

Unlock your musical potential with a seasoned, classically trained composer and award-winning creator of musical theater and concert works.

I am a composer of musical theater and concert music. My concert works have captivated audiences across Japan, Bulgaria, Israel, and prestigious New York stages including Merkin Hall, Symphony Space, CAMI Hall, and Mannes College of Music.

My musicals have been showcased at renowned venues such as The New School, Theater Resources Unlimited, and the Midtown International Theater Festival.

Whether you're aiming to deepen your composition skills or bring your musical ideas to life, I offer personalized instruction rooted in a proven artistic vision and an international performance pedigree. Start your musical journey with a tutor who’s walked the creative path and can inspire your unique sound.

Teaching Style

Music is a powerful form of communication—alive, vibrant, and full of meaning. Music should never feel dry or disconnected, but always tell a compelling story. Together, we’ll explore the unique story you want to share and discover how to bring it to life through your music.

I offer expert mentorship shaped by studying with Broadway guru Aaron Frankel ('Writing the Broadway Musical') and acclaimed composer Skip Kennon (TIME AND AGAIN, THE LAST STARFIGHTER). On the classical front, I have refined my craft through master classes with luminaries such as Ezra Laderman, Paul Moravec, John Eaton, Jennifer Higdon, and Elliott Carter. Every lesson benefits from this rich professional pedigree, bringing a depth of experience and insight that empowers my students to reach their full creative potential.

While most of my teaching experience has been with adults, I bring extensive expertise working with young learners; I composed the music for eight family musicals to be performed by children for younger audiences. This unique background equips me to connect with and inspire students of all ages.

Curriculum

I worked closely with Aaron Frankel at The New School (New York). His book, "Writing the Broadway Musical" informs much of my theater writing aesthetic.

I also teach based on material I learned as a member of the BMI Musical Theater Workshop and workshops of my work at Theater Resources, Unlimited.

Beyond writing, I have also worked with Tony Award winning producer Ken Davenport (KINKY BOOTS, ONCE ON THIS ISLAND) to learn the commercial, business side of theater.

My interest in melody, lyricism, and the power of music to communicate is also evident in my classical music.
