Robbie Ma
About
I am a professional violinist with over 15 years of experience performing, touring, and teaching. Currently teaching at FACE School in Montreal, working privately with students and coaching the string section. Graduating in 2012, I hold a Master’s degree and an Artist Diploma from the University of Montreal. I have toured internationally across North and South America, Europe, China, and South Korea, as well as participated in music festivals in Colombia, Mexico, and Europe with Collectif 9, and New Generation Chamber Orchestra.
Alongside my classical career, I collaborate regularly with pop and indie artists in live concerts and recordings, bringing a diverse and inspiring perspective to my teaching.
Teaching Style
As a teacher, I love helping students refine their technique, deepen their musical expression. I take an individual approach with each student, making sure lessons fit their needs and goals. Having studied with some of the world’s most inspiring teachers, and taken part in masterclasses with great violinists such as Maxim Vengerov, and Zakhar Bron, I bring a wide perspective to my teaching. I enjoy breaking down challenges into smaller, manageable steps so students feel encouraged by their progress and excited about what they can achieve.
Curriculum
My teaching approach is tailored to each student’s goals and level. Together, we will select appropriate etudes, exercises, scales and pieces to effectively support your development.
