About

Former long-tenured Associate Concertmaster of the Minnesota Orchestra, where I performed for many years collaborating with some of the world’s best musicians and conductors. I offer custom-tailored Violin lessons for both intermediate and advanced students, whether they are aspiring professionals or simply wish to deepen their passion for music. A noted coaching specialist in Preparation for Auditions, whether for college entrance or orchestral auditions, having given individual coaching sessions and master classes in audition preparation all over the world. .

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of performing extensively as a soloist and chamber musician, both in the U.S. and internationally, including a solo debut at Carnegie Hall. My experience includes solo violin performances in major venues across Europe, Asia, and the United States. In addition to my work with the Minnesota Orchestra, I have served as Guest Concertmaster of both the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as Artist-in-Residence at the University of Northwestern, St. Paul, where I led masterclasses and outreach programs.

I am the author of The Orchestra Audition: How to Prepare, a guide for musicians preparing for orchestral auditions. As a result, many of my coaching students are now members of major orchestras.

As a chamber musician, I co-founded the Minneapolis Artists Ensemble and perform as a member of the Kairos Trio, blending classical performance with a focus on sharing the Christian faith. I have also served as concertmaster and solo violinist at various renowned music festivals, including the Wintergreen Music Festival and Rocky Mountain Summer Conservatory.

I hold a Master of Music degree from Indiana University, where I studied with the esteemed Josef Gingold, and a Bachelor of Music from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. I am passionate about sharing my experience and expertise with students, helping them develop both their technical skills and artistic expression.

Teaching Style

There are two different approaches to teaching the violin: adhering to a set curriculum or taking a unique approach for each student. My teaching style definitely adheres to the latter. We all learn differently, so I strive to adapt the repertoire and etudes to the individual student. My class is focused on serious intermediate to advanced students, including adult learners, who are always welcome.
