Rory Godson
About
My name is Rory. I have 9 years of experience producing electronic music and using Ableton Live, including creating and releasing my own tracks, which have gained over 85,000+ streams across social media.
I am a graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Production and DJ Practice from Point Blank Music School in London. I am also a Level 5 qualified teacher.
I have a huge passion for helping people and I know what it takes to create great electronic music.
I also have a background in multimedia, creative work, and teaching support roles.
Teaching Style
I teach with a patient, step by step approach and aim to help students turn their ideas, emotions and inspirations into real pieces of music. Whether someone is completely new to Ableton or struggling to finish tracks, my goal is to help them build confidence and enjoy the creative process.
My lessons are relaxed, supportive and creativity focused. I teach step by step and adapt lessons to each student’s pace and goals.
Curriculum
My teaching method focuses on learning through creating. Rather than overwhelming students with what each button does, I guide them through building real music from the beginning, starting with simple loops, beats and melodies, then gradually introducing arrangement, effects, mixing and workflow.
I also encourage students to draw inspiration from visuals, stories, emotions and the music they love, helping them develop their own creative identity alongside technical skills.
Lessons are taught interactively through Ableton Live itself.
