SAKI SUGIO
About
Hi there! Thanks so much for checking my profile. I'm a native Japanese speaker currently living in Japan. Since completing a 420-hour Advanced Japanese Teacher Training Course at the World Japanese Language Centre in 2021, I have taught over 5,000 lessons and earned recognition as one of the top-rated teachers on another platform.
I studied English at Kansai University and spent 10 years living in the U.S., so you don't need to worry even if you are a complete beginner in learning Japanese!✌ Whether you want to build your confidence or just have fun practicing conversation, I’m here to help!
I decided to become a teacher because many of my friends were studying Japanese, and I wanted to support them. From my own experience learning English, I understand the frustration of facing challenges in a new language. When my students and friends say, "Learning Japanese is so hard! I get so nervous when I speak Japanese!" I can truly relate to their struggles. I strive to be very patient because I know how difficult it is to communicate in a different language. With me, you don’t need to be afraid of making mistakes! 😉
One last thing: I absolutely love manga and anime! I always enjoy hearing my students' new favorites! Let’s practice Japanese together and chat about all the fun stuff! 😄
Teaching Style
🍙 Beginner Japanese 🍙
Never studied Japanese before? No worries! Let's start with Hiragana (Japanese characters) and basic greetings! And then, you will learn how to say things like...
"This movie was very interesting!"
"Why don't we eat sushi tonight?"
"Excuse me, could you tell me how to get to Tokyo Station?"
I will provide the materials for you, so you do not need to purchase any textbooks. However, we can also follow textbooks such as Genki, Tobira, Nakama, and others if you would like to use them with me.
* Please note that these lessons are designed for college-level learners, so I am only accepting students who are 16 years of age and older.
