About
I am a classical guitarist, teacher, and performer. I have my Masters in Performance and String Pedagogy from the University of Louisville. I hold teaching positions at colleges in the Charlotte area. I run an annual guitar symposium at Queens University which includes performances, masterclasses, and competitions.
I have 5 plus years of higher education teaching as well as K-12 teaching experience.
Teaching Style
I use a classical approach which centers around strong fundamentals, finger picking, music theory, and overall musicianship building to the highest level. This approach is well suited for all skill levels and styles of playing. The classical approach is really unique because it forces you to really analyze details that are easily overlooked. Tone production and exercises are very common tools for me to work on with students to bring them to new levels of playing. If you feel stagnant or haven't seen any technique developments lately or if you are looking to take your favorite classical guitar pieces to the next level you have come to the right place!
