Teaching Style
My teaching style is based on the student. I adapt to maximize the possibilities with each student collaborating with their goals. I like my students to feel comfortable expressing themselves on the drums as soon as possible. I believe that the main focus should be actually playing and understanding what to do in musical settings vs simply checking the box on exercises in a book. My strengths then are in communicating simple and abstract concepts that can be applied to the students vocabulary and current ability as well as offering years of real world insight. I have noticed that as students learn this way they feel less pressure and have more fun while exceeding their own expectations.
