Hi! I teach both language and music lessons including piano, English, ESL, French, and Russian. I have a master's degree in linguistics from Georgetown University and over 3 years of piano teaching experience. I have taught language lessons for a few years now, with a large portion of my experience being teaching language courses at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah. I was raised bilingual, French & English, and have studied Russian for over 12 years, including living in Eastern Ukraine for over a year doing volunteer work. 

My years of piano teaching were both through my private studio as well as through Arts & Minds Academy based in Virginia. Arts & Minds Academy sadly closed their studio last year but also had a virtual teaching platform which was highly effective and motivated me to continue pursuing virtual teaching opportunities.

For piano lessons, I tend to teach from the Piano Adventures series (Faber), but am willing to work with whatever curriculum suits you best. I believe that letting the student choose what type of music they want to play will help them learn the fastest, so I always appreciate hearing what your music preferences are before we get started. For children in the early learning stages, I incorporate lots of fun games to make the learning more interactive and less of a chore. Starting piano lessons can be intimidating, but in my experience, beginners progress very quickly and find my lessons highly gratifying. Of course, all levels of piano learning are gratifying, so no matter what level you are at I'd love to work with you!

For language lessons, I focus on an immersive method which research shows to be one of the most effective ways to learn a language. I take a conversational approach even from day 1, which helps to increase students' confidence and motivation since they get to start speaking immediately!
